    Jr. Falcons Spring Training

DFAC will continue the Jr. Falcon Spring Training program again in 2012, beginning April 14th, 2012.  The Jr. Falcon Spring Training program will be broken up into 3 age groups, 2nd/3rd, 4th/5th and 6th/7th grades.  All Sessions will be run by members of the DFAC Training Staff.

The Jr. Falcons Program is an introduction to the Developmental/Competitive Basketball program of Desert Foothills Athletic Club (DFAC).  It is designed for players who enjoy the sport of basketball and are seeking an opportunity to take their skills and teamwork to a higher level.  DFAC Falcons Programs will focus on the acquisition of skills, the importance of sportsmanship, and the power of teamwork.  The new program is divided in two parts:

    Introductory Phase
This phase will consist of four one-hour training sessions, focusing on skill evaluation and enhancement, while introducing young players to our professional training staff.  This phase will begin in April 2011 and there will be no charge to players.

    Skills Enhancement Phase
This phase will consist of six sessions and is designed for players who decide to continue developing their skills and enjoy working with our pro trainers.  This phase begins in late April and will cost $50 (includes Jr. Falcons T-shirt).

Curtis Johnson We are deeply saddened to announce the death of Curtis Johnson, a great friend of the DFAC family.  We are all shocked at the sudden passing of Curtis during the Holiday break.

Curtis had developed many great relationships in the many years as a volunteer coach in the DFAC program.   He was a great asset to our organization and a positive role model to our youth.  Curtis had coached teams for DFAC for many years and was a very popular and well respected coach.

Curtis had developed many great friendships with other coaches and parents and will certainly be missed.   Curtis had coached a great number of kids through the years, all who had the benefit of his leadership and instruction.  Family members include Heidi, Blake (Age 11) and Lauren (Age 15).

No Food Or Drink In The Gyms
Coaches please remind all your players that No Food or Drinks are allowed in the gyms during games.  Water is OK.  Please ask your players to pick up all garbage, water bottles, ect. left in the bench area and the bleachers even if it’s not your mess.  Also, outside the gyms have been left with garbage on the ground after snacks are passed out.  Please make sure all materials are placed in the garbage cans after your games.  If we all pitch in and help it should only take a minute or two after each game.

    Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are also needed to help set up and close gyms for our upcoming summer season. Help is needed to set up tables, chairs and game equipment before all games and sweep, clean and put away all equipment after games. This usually takes 2-3 people about 20 minutes before and after games to complete.

If you can help please email us at basketball@dfacsports.com
