Want to become a competitive player?
Step 1: Attend tryouts, a training session, or skills clinic
Skills Evaluations/Tryouts take place May each year. We recommend attending at least 2 tryout sessions. Click HERE for more information. It’s always a good idea to attend our Spring Skills Clinics as well so coaches have more opportunities to see you in action, and players practice with current Elite players.
Players can always be evaluated at training sessions if the season has already started. For more information, please contact the office at 480-488-8485 or email [email protected].
Step 2: Join a team
If applicable, a coach will reach out to you and offer a spot on a team. Congratulations! If you accept, move on to Step 3.
Step 3: Register for DFAC and the Desert Elite program
Club registration is required in order to participate in Desert Elite team activities. See link to the right for current Desert Elite registration link (make sure the dates are for the season you desire). For more details about the Desert Elite Soccer Program, see link above.
Step 4: Complete Elite paperwork and Team information
You’ve already registered for the club, but now there are some team items to take care. Your team manager* will give you additional paperwork to complete (Player Commitment, Financial Commitment, ASA Code of Conduct, ASA Medical form for managers to keep on hand) and communicate what the team budget/finances are. In addition to club registration, there are additional fees paid to the team to cover the costs of team training, games, tournaments, etc. (Youth Academy additional team fees are for optional tournaments.)
*Contact the office if you do not know who your team manager is.
Step 5: Order a Uniform
This step is also handled by your team manager. Let the manager know what sizes are needed as well as what jersey number you would like (based on availability). He/she will let you know the price of the uniform kit and give you further instructions.
Step 6: Start Playing
Your coach or manager will communicate the practices days, game dates, and tournament schedule, although these specifics may not yet be available until mid-August, and game schedules not until September. All teams will participate in School of Excellence clinics in August and the Desert Elite Cup tournament over Labor Day weekend.
